UX practice

UX strategy & design leadership

For product teams without a shared UX direction, or without a senior lead to set one.

At a glance

Format
a fixed 4–6-week engagement, or a monthly retainer.
You receive
an experience vision and north star, a design operating model, and a roadmap your stakeholders agree on.
For
product teams and stakeholders who need senior UX direction.

The problem

We re-argue what good looks like on every project. Design gets brought in after the date is already promised. Our team is capable, but nobody senior sets the direction or holds it with stakeholders.

What you get

  • An experience vision and north star. We work with your product team and stakeholders to define a UX vision that aligns user needs with business objectives.
  • Design operations and team enablement. A design operating model for how your team works, and a senior partner to raise the bar of your in-house team.
  • Roadmap alignment. We bring stakeholders to agreement on a roadmap that carries the vision.
  • Help to carry it out. We do not stop at the vision. We help execute on it.

Is it right for you?

For

  • Teams that need senior direction, a design operating model, or a partner to raise the bar of an in-house team.
  • Organisations facing a merger or rebrand across many products.
  • Teams building or growing a UX practice.

How it works

Most engagements begin with a short discovery call to scope the right first step. Every engagement is tailored, but the backbone stays the same.

  1. Understand

We immerse in your business goals, constraints and users — reviewing what exists and what's missing.

  2. Define

We frame the real problem, shape the information architecture and agree on how we'll measure success.

  3. Design

We wireframe, prototype and validate with real users — iterating until the experience is right.

  4. Deliver

We hand off production-ready design, documentation and a system your team can extend with confidence.

Questions

A fixed engagement or a retainer?

Either: a fixed 4–6-week engagement, or a monthly retainer. We agree which fits on the discovery call.

Will you work with our in-house team?

Yes. Raising the bar of an in-house team is one of the main reasons to bring us in.

What about a larger programme?

For larger programmes, Matthaios draws on a trusted network of specialists and stays hands-on as the lead throughout.

What if we need more afterwards?

The monthly retainer is there for that. Once the vision is set, we help execute on it.
